APC ‘ll take over Zango Kataf LG – Commissioner

THE Kaduna State Commissioner for Finance, Bashir Sa’idu, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress would win the rescheduled local council chairmanship election in Zangon Kataf slated for September 25, 2021.

Zangon Kataf is a traditional stronghold of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, it has remained with the PDP since the return of democracy in 1999.

Bashir said this while briefing newsmen in Kafanchan after Saturday’s local government polls.

According to him, the APC has won Jema’a, Sanga, Kagarko, Kauru while Kachia was declared inconclusive but he added that Zango Kataf would not be an exception.

He said the ruling party won the election because of the tremendous projects ongoing in parts of Jema’a and other parts of Southern Kaduna, insisting that with the coming of APC, the people should expect more projects across zone 3.

Bashir said, “I cannot see how only one IT official will be posted to a local government. The machines did not function well particularly those in the rural areas. How can one person move from Godogodo to Kagoma and at the same time move to Jagindi? It is impossible.”

The council election was postponed in Zangon Kataf and other local governments as a result of insecurity.
